Funky Friday - Scraper Board Effect

This week's challenge is a sketch one.
Here is my card - it has a more masculing feel to it. Although you can not really see the effect in the photograph I covered whisper white cardstock with Platinum shimmer paint using a sponge dauber and inked up the stamp with black staz-on. The effect is like of of those scrapper board pictures you can get.

SUPPLIES

Stamp Set: Studio Sketches - level 1 hostess set from Mini catalogue
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Bravo Burgundy, Kraft
Ink: Black Staz-on
Accessories: Cherished rub-ons, black brads, black gingham ribbon, Platinum shimmer paint, sponge dauber, paper piercer and mat.

Christmas in July

I have been spending July in Elie with my Mum and the boys and the weather has been lovely most of the time.

I did a job to do while I was here - make Christmas card for my MIL to take down with me when we go down in August. SO finally finished 100 of them.
This is the card that I had to make. It was a swap from last year's convention - I think - there is not name so I can't give the credit where it is due - if it is yours please let me know.

There is a lot of steps to this card and can't believe that someone made them for swaps!

SUPPLIES
Stamp Set: Lovely as a Tree, Season of Joy, Baroque Motifs
Cardstock: Garden Green, Real Red, Natural Ivory
Ink: Garden Green, Chocolate Chip Stamp 'n' write, Versamark, Chocolate Chip
DSP: Merry Moments
Accessories: Gold brads, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, 1/2" circle punch to make the ticket corner, dimensionals, 2 way glue pen, dazzling diamonds.

I am back up to Aberdeen on Friday for ONE night and then leave on Sat am to drive down south and visit friends in York on Sat night, then head to Norfolk to stay with David's mum and then off to Brighton to visit David's brother and then to Essex to stay with his Dad.

I will be scheduling posts to appear whilst I am away (hopefully) but I have got my phone so will be checking that they work.

I think that I will need a holiday to get over the travelling. Thank goodness the school's go back soon (ish)

Funky Friday - Bargello Christmas in July

What a mixed week of weather for the summer. At least we had 2 fab sunny days so could get to the beach - why does sand end up everywhere?

This week's challenge is a theme one. Here is my card. I recycled the ribbon bow from another card. I reused the layout of a card I have created previously. I reduced the waste I was going to throw away as I have been making 100 Christmas cards for my MIL and the patterned paper was the off cuts from the Merry Moments Design Series Paper.

SUPPLIES
Stamp Set: Season of Joy
Cardstock: Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Very Vanilla
Ink: Real Red Stamp 'n' write
Accessories: Real red grosgrain ribbon, eyelet border punch, oval punch, scallop oval punch, dimensionals

We are off to Edinburgh today to stay with my brother until Sunday. We plan to get to Edinburgh Zoo for opening and spend the whole day there - hopefully it will stay dry!

Funky Friday - Sketch Challenge

Well I am on holiday with the boys in Elie, Fife so the whole of July. My car was packed full yet still managed to cram in some crafting stuff.

I was out playing tennis last night from a friend from school - next year I will have left school 20 years ago. Every time we had to pick up the balls we spent more time chatting and catching up so decided we were better off having a drink - hello wine.

I have got very limited supplies with me and so for the next few weeks will be creating projects using similar supplies.

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge.
Here is my card.

Teacher's Gifts

Being the end of term, things get a bit hectic so instead of a Funky Friday challenge (see below for more info) I thought I would share with you the gifts that I made for one of the teachers at the school.

The year has passed so quickly, Theo going into P4, Toby P1 and Tristan will be starting Nursery in January. Everyone keeps telling me what will I do with time but i have plenty to keep myself occupied.

I love the Ssunny Day Simply Scrappin' kit. I am amazed at how much you can make with it. The book I made using my BIA and chipboard covers.

Supplies:
Sunny Day Simply Scrappin' Kit
Old Olive Striped Grosgrain ribbon
Rhinestone brads.
